Focus on Energy, through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, is offering a new program that encourages every Wisconsin resident to replace old, inefficient appliances with new ENERGY STAR® qualified models. The State Energy-Efficient Appliance Rebate Program (SEEARP) began on January 1, 2010 for purchases made on or after the program start date (the program is not retroactive).

Proof of recycling is required for appliances that contain refrigerant, such as central air conditioners, refrigerators, and freezers. Customers can contact Focus to review their recycling options, which include:
Under the SEEARP, Wisconsin residents can receive Cash-Back Rewards to purchase new ENERGY STAR qualified or high-efficiency appliances when they replace their old appliances. Cash-Back Reward amounts are between $25 and $100 for ENERGY STAR qualified clothes washers and dishwashers (select models), and refrigerators and freezers. Rewards are also offered for high-efficiency boilers, central air conditioners, furnaces, heat pumps, high-efficiency water heaters, and high-efficiency solar hot-water heaters.
