Orth Retires from New Holstein Utility Commission
Ralph N. Orth has retired as a member of the New Holstein Utility Commission after 20 years of service. He was appointed to the Utility Commission on June 9, 1982 and served until August 27, 2002.
Among the major accomplishments during Orth's term on the utility commission included New Holstein Utilities joining Wisconsin Public Power Inc. (WPPI) as a member-owner, the addition to the Wastewater Treatment Plant in 2001, and improvements to the city's utility infrastructure. Mr. Orth was a dedicated member on the utility commission and shared his knowledge of governmental procedures from his previous experience as Mayor (1979-1982) and as a member of the Planning Commission.
On September 18, 2002 the Common Council of the City of New Holstein adopted Resolution 1034 extending its gratitude to Mr. Orth for his many years of service to the community.
Mayor Ron Karrels will be appointing Mr. Orth's replacement on the Utility Commission in the near future.
