NHU Celebrates Public Power Week
New Holstein Utilities, along with more than 2,000 other municipal electric utilities throughout the nation, will celebrate Public Power Week from October 6-12.
To celebrate, NHU is planning a number of activities. Customers are invited to stop in during Customer Appreciation Days to have some cookies and a cup of apple cider. Customers are also encouraged to register to win the combination TV/VCR that is being given away. Several small gifts are also available for our customers. Please stop in!
We will once again be partnering with the local schools to sponsor a food drive for the local food pantry. Students can bring non-perishable food items and/or paper products to the New Holstein Elementary School, Holy Rosary Catholic School, or to the utility office (located in City Hall). For making a donation to the food drive, a student is eligible to register for prizes to be given away.
Public Power Week is an annual event that celebrates the benefits of locally owned and operated electric utilities. It is held in conjunction with the American Public Power Association, a service organization for the nation's community-owned electric utilities. More than 40 million people across the United States enjoy the benefits of reliable, affordable, and responsive electric service provided by public power utilities that are dedicated to the communities they serve.
