We're Celebrating 100 Years of Service
In 2012, New Holstein Utilities is proud to be celebrating our Centennial. We plan to celebrate the Centennial with several events this year. We are inviting our customers (the owners of NHU) to join in the celebration!
On June 20, 1912, electors in the Village of New Holstein voted in favor of having electricity in the community. During the remainder of 1912, the citizens raised money and a power plant and infrastructure was constructed to provide electricity to the community. On December 23, 1912, the electric streetlights were turned on for the first time, illuminating the village.
On Friday, May 18 we will commemorate the Centennial by hosting an event at Civic Park. A picnic style dinner with hamburgers, brats and side dishes will be held from 4:30 to 6:30 pm. A short program commemorating the Centennial will be held immediately after the dinner. The evening's activities will conclude with a dance from 7:00 to 10:00 pm. Music by Carol & the Keynotes. Enjoy music from the selection of polkas, country, slow dance and old time rock 'n roll. Snacks and refreshments will be available during the dance. There is no cost to attendees for any of the events. Attendees may register for door prizes. Small gifts will also be available for those attending the celebration.
In order to get an accurate count for the dinner, NHU customers are being asked to RSVP at email@example.com or by calling the NHU office.
We hope you join us for the festivities!
