No Pokémon Near Utility Facilities

New Holstein Utilities is respectfully asking players of the new "Pokémon Go" game to stay clear of utility facilities, especially electric substations. Electric substations have high voltage wiring and should never be entered by unauthorized personnel.

"We want people to enjoy the new 'Pokémon Go' reality game, but participants must be aware of their environments when playing the game," stated Randy Jaeckels, NHU's General Manager. He continued, "And participants must make safe choices as to when and where they are playing the game. We are hoping that participants respect our utility property and stay away from our electric substations, water pump houses and water towers, and the wastewater treatment plant. We ask that if anyone sees any individual or groups near these facilities that they respectfully ask them to leave the area. As always, strange or suspicious behavior can be reported to our office."

New Holstein Utilities is already aware of utilities in the region and in areas around the country who already have had the reality gamers show at electric substations, power plants and other utility facilities. People must remember that this is a game and not real. Games are for entertainment and should be played safely.
