The Focus on Energy Appliance Recycling Program is Back!
After a fairly long absence, Wisconsin Focus on Energy has brought back the Appliance Recycling Program. So, if you have a working freezer or refrigerator that you would like to replace, now is the time to take advantage of the WFOE program to recycle your old unit.
The Appliance Recycling Program is available to any residential or business customer. The freezer or refrigerator must be in working condition. If you don't want to keep the unit running until it can be picked up, you can unplug the unit but it should be plugged in a couple of days before the scheduled pick-up date so it can be cold as to proof that it is a functioning unit. The units must be between 10 and 30 cubic feet to be eligible for the program.
If you have a freezer or refrigerator that you would like to be picked up, call (800) 354-1898 to schedule an appointment to have the unit(s) picked up. There is no charge to have the unit picked up. Customers will receive $35 from Focus on Energy for turning in the unit. There is a limit of two units annually that can be picked up through this program. All units will be properly disposed of and recycled instead of being landfilled.
