New Holstein Utilities Celebrates Public Power Week

New Holstein Utilities will celebrate Public Power Week from September 28 - October 4. Our customers are invited to join in the celebration.

Public Power Week is an opportunity for our community to celebrate the benefits of having a locally owned and operated electric utility. Some of these benefits include:

  • Low electric rates
  • Reliable electric service
  • Quick response to customer requests
  • A payment by NHU to the City of New Holstein in lieu of taxes
  • A utility office located within the community where customers can make payments, speak with utility employees regarding questions or concerns, etc

During the week of September 28 we will be serving refreshments daily. Customers are invited to stop by the NHU office to register to win a DVD/VCR player. New Holstein Utilities is also sponsoring our annual food drive for the local food pantry. The first 250 customers to bring in an unexpired, non-perishable food item or household supply (i.e. paper products, shampoo, soap, toothpaste) will receive a 23-watt compact fluorescent bulb as a token of our appreciation for participating in the program.

Students from the local schools are also being given the opportunity to participate in the food drive. Students at the elementary schools can bring items to their school. High school students are asked to bring items to the NHU office. Students who bring in an item(s) will have the opportunity to register to win a variety of prizes which will be given away by NHU. The students can register at their school or at the NHU office.

New Holstein Utilities is proud to be one of the 2,000+ community-owned utilities in the United States. We are pleased to serve over 2,200 customers in the New Holstein area!
