Students Receive Electric Safety and Conservation Message
New Holstein Utilities recently sponsored a touring theatre show designed to educate young students about energy conservation and electric safety.
The fast-paced, educational program called "The Energized Guyz" involves elementary school students in the subject matter by encouraging audience participation.
Produced by The National Theatre for Children, a Minnesota-based national touring company, the program uses colorful sets and characters in humorous situations to teach students about the concepts and importance of conserving energy and being safe around electricity.
In the program, "Nikki Neutron" is called on to save the day after "The Sneaker" has created a number of dangerous electrical conditions.
To reinforce the safety and conservation messages, NTC supplies teachers with educational materials to use in the classroom.
The performances are coordinated by New Holstein's power supplier, Wisconsin Public Power Inc., a power company based in Sun Prairie that provides electricity and support services to 37 municipal electric utilities in Wisconsin.
