NHU Celebrates Public Power Week

From Sept. 26-Oct. 7, we invite our customers to celebrate the benefits of owning and operating a community-owned electric utility.

Since 1912, New Holstein Utilities has been providing low-cost and reliable electric service to customers in New Holstein and the surrounding rural area. New Holstein Utilities is owned by the community of New Holstein, not shareowners, so we do not need to be concerned with turning a profit for someone's investment. We simply pass on the cost to provide the electric service to our customers. We are pleased to have the opportunity to serve our customers in New Holstein and the surrounding area.

You are invited to share in our celebration by stopping by our office at the New Holstein City Hall for refreshments and picking up a small token of our appreciation. You can also register to win an ENERGY STAR-rated Whirpool 40-pint dehumidifier. The ultra low temperature model can be used anywhere in the home.

We will also be conducting our annual food drive for the local food pantry during the week. The first 250 customers to bring in an unexpired, non-perishable food or personal care product will receive a 25-watt compact fluorescent light bulb. There is a limit of one light bulb per customer. Students may also bring in a non-perishable food or personal care item and register for the chance to win a prize.

We look forward to seeing you during Public Power Week!
