NHU Sponsors Safety and Energy Conservation Shows at Schools
New Holstein Utilities is sponsoring a touring theater show designed to educate young students about energy conservation and electric safety.
The fast-paced, educational program called "Feeblejuice and the Electrician Magician" involves elementary school students in the subject matter by encouraging audience participation and presenting lessons in a manner that children enjoy. Produced by The National Theatre for Children, a Minnesota-based national touring company, the program uses colorful sets and characters in humorous situations to teach students about the concepts and importance of conserving energy and playing it safe around electricity.
In the program, "Jenny Rator," a magician's apprentice to "Dr. Kyle O'Watt," has only 20 minutes to solve two riddles in order to become a full magician. While playing around in Dr. O'Watt's secret library, Jenny accidentally lets loose the troublemaker "Feeblejuice," who gets into all kinds of electrical mischief.
To reinforce the safety and conservation messages, the NTC supplies teachers with follow-up educational materials for use in the classroom.
The performances are scheduled for:
The performances are coordinated by New Holstein's power supplier, Wisconsin Public Power Inc. (WPPI). WPPI is based in Sun Prairie, Wisconsin and provides electricity and support services to 40 municipal electric utilities in Wisconsin.
