Tax Credits Available for Energy Efficiency Improvements

With the passage of the Energy Policy Act of 2005, homeowners and businesses can begin to take advantage of tax credits for making energy efficiency improvements.

Energy costs continue to rise. If you ever thought of making energy efficiency improvements to your home or business, now may be the perfect opportunity to complete those measures. By installing qualified energy efficiency improvements and/or renewable energy systems in 2006 or 2007, you can take advantage of tax credits.

So, while you are gathering all of your tax documents to take to your tax accountant or advisor, make a list of questions to ask about specific improvements that you are considering to make. Your advisor or accountant should be able to tell you if those improvements would be eligible for the tax credits. Some energy efficiency improvments may also be eligible for rebates from NHU. Please contact our office to determine if the improvements that you are planning to make are eligilbe for a rebate.
