Pafford Named MEUW Lineman of the Year
New Holstein Utilities' lineman Tom Pafford has been named the 2007 Municipal Utilities of Wisconsin (MEUW) Outstanding Lineman of the Year. The award was presented at the annual Joint Superintendents Conference. MEUW is the state association representing 82 municipally-owned electric utilities. MEUW has served municipal electric utilities since 1928.
Pafford was hired by NHU on February 28, 1992 as an Apprentice Lineworker. He completed his apprenticeship in August of 1996. The utility commission promoted him to Line Foreman in December of 1999.
Pafford was nominated for the award by NHU General Manager, Randy Jaeckels. In nominating Pafford for the award, Jaeckels cited Pafford's attention to safety, knowledge of electric codes, dedication to quality customer service, and operational efficiency. Through Pafford's resourcefulness on purchasing materials and services, NHU has been able to save money. These efforts assist in keeping NHU's electric rates as economical as possible.
We congratulate Tom on his award!
